Allen, Brown sign with women's golf

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Sam Houston State women's golf coach Brandt Kieschnick announced the signing of Caitlin Brown and Shawnee Allen for fall of 2017, announced Wednesday.
“We are very excited about bringing Caitlin to our Women's Golf Program,” Kieschnick said. “She is a very solid player and has already played very well in Division 1 events. She will bring a depth and maturity to our team that will help us win championships”
“We are very excited about signing Shawnee and bringing her to our women's program," Kieschnick said. "We want to get the best juniors in Texas and Shawnee is one of the highest ranked players in the state. We are excited that she will bring a high-level of golf to an already talented team.”

Competed in two tournaments for Dallas Baptist University her freshman year, finishing tied for seventh at the NCCAA Central Regional.

Winning back-to-back state championships as a freshman and sophomore shows that she find contention and bring out the victory in big events. Also, Shawnee finished 2nd at AJGA in Abilene after coming off a 5 month sickness and not playing any tournament golf and shows she is really tough mentally. We are excited to have her join us and help us compete for Conference Championships and National Championships.”
