Kats in 5th after Day 1

HOUSTON -- The Sam Houston State bowling team closed the first day of their home tournament with a 4-2 record and currently stand in fifth place.
The Kats played six matches on Friday, taking wins against Lincoln Memorial, Delaware State, Grambling and Vanderbilt.
“I thought be got off to a bit of a slow start,” said head coach Brad Hagen. I liked the way we finished though getting the win against Vanderbilt and hopefully that will give us some momentum heading into an important Saturday.”
Nebraska, who defeated the Kats in Match 2, is the leader at 5-0 and holds a commanding 200-pin lead over second place Arkansas State. The Cornhuskers are the two-time defending champions of the Track Kat Klash.
