
Transfer, high school senior sign with Kats

Katie Andrie, a utility player from Blinn College, and Megan Crosby, a catcher from Needville High School, have signed letters-of-intent to attend Sam Houston and play softball for head coach Bob Brock.
Andrie is hitting .444 as a sophomore for the Buccaneers this spring. So far this season she has totaled seven home runs and 30 runs batted in. As a freshman, she posted a .365 average playing both as an infielder and outfielder.
A National Honor Society member and Phi Teta Kappa National Honor Society member, she compiled a perfect 4.0 grade point average last season.
Andrie played softball and volleyball at China Spring High School. She was a two-time first team all-district selection and district “Newcomer of the Year” in 2011. She also earned all-district and all-SuperCentex honors in volleyball and played basketball in high school.
Crosby has earned all-district honors in three sports (softball, volleyball and basketball). As a junior she was named district defensive MVP and earned all-state honorable mention honors.
Team captain for her high school squad, she also earned first team academic all-district honors in all three sports.
