Format
The Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational comprises of a three-day schedule and lane draws determined randomly in the coaches meeting on Friday morning. The entire tournament will be scratch and based on match wins and losses. Teams compete in six, five-game Baker matches on Friday followed by six traditional matches on Saturday. The teams will then be seeded based on total pins for the bracket round on Sunday, which will be three Baker best 4-out-of-7 matches. The final team positions will be determined after the bracket round.
In the Baker format, starting members of the competing teams shall successively and, in regular order, bowl one frame on one lane. Once five frames are completed, the team members shall remain on the same lane and complete the starting member order again, with frames six through 10 being completed. No changes shall be made in the order of players after the start of the game, except for substitutes, although once a player has been pulled from the game that player is not allowed to return until the next game.
In the five-person team game, starting members of the competing teams shall successively and, in regular order, bowl one frame on one lane. Once completed, the team members shall move to the alternate lane of the competition pair. This pattern of play continues until all 10 frames of a game are complete. The same substitution rules as Baker matches apply.

Quotable
Head Coach Brad Hagen on last week's tournament…
“The mid-states event was all about working out our kinks and is a great event that immediately exposes our strengths and current weaknesses. We really used the information that we got from the mid-states event to focus on what was needed the last few days.
On the Sugar Bowl Tournament…
“We've had a lot of success at this event over the years with a lot of different faces and we're looking to yield those same results this weekend.”
On having five new faces in this year's lineup…
“We try to create as close to a game time experience as possible but the only true test and way to get them up to speed is trial by fire. We start typically way earlier than other programs with our competition schedule but I feel it's more beneficial for us not only short term but long term given how young we are year in and out.”
