HUNTSVILLE – Fans attending Wednesday's 6:30 p.m. Sam Houston State game against Texas are encouraged to arrive early with the facility and amenities opening early.
Stadium gates will open two hours before first pitch allowing fans to avoid possible traffic associated with Sam Houston softball's home opener getting underway that afternoon.
General parking is available for free to Wednesday's matchup and can be found in the West Lot – west of Bowers Stadium – as well as in the North Parking lot adjacent to Bearkat Blvd. An overhead map of the Bearkat athletic complex can be found below.
The game, featuring No. 18 Sam Houston and No. 16 Texas, is presented by Gateway Apartments, with the first 300 students receiving a free Bearkat Baseball shirt. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
General admission is priced at $10. The Sam Houston ticket office is also offering a 3-game ticket package featuring No. 16 Texas, No. 21 Rice and Dallas Baptist priced at $20. To purchase, call (936) 294-1729.
Wednesday marks the first visit for the Longhorns to Huntsville in 93 previous meetings between the programs. Fans are encouraged make arrangements to arrive early.
