
Alberto, Phillips Pace Kats at UTA Invite

MANSFIELD, Texas – Led by junior Hanna Alberto, four individuals from the Sam Houston State women's golf team had strong showings through the first two rounds of the UT Arlington Invitational at Walnut Creek Country Club.
Alberto finished the day five-over par after shooting 74 in the first round and 73 in the second. After picking up a pair of birdies in the opening round, she tallied four more her second time around the course. Alberto sits in a three-way tie for third place with a total score of 147.
Following closely behind with 148 on her card, Jenna Phillips sits in a two-way tie for sixth place. Phillips fired a team-low 72-stroke effort in her first round and tallied a 76 in the second round. She finished the day with three birdies.
Tori Gatling was the next highest finisher for the Bearkats, combining her rounds for a total score of 165 on the day. Kayla McFall rounded out the Sam Houston golfers with a score of 173.
The Kats will close out the UT Arlington Invitational tomorrow morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live stats are available on golfstat.com.
