Kats move to 5th at Mid-Winter Invitational

After two days of action at the Mid-Winter Invitational in Arkansas, the Bearkats are 9-1 and sit in fifth place in the 21-team event hosted by Arkansas State.
The Kats posted a 4-1 record on Saturday, dropping their only match of the day to No. 1 ranked McKendree.
“Today was a lot less eventful than yesterday,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “Our execution was a lot better and our energy was consistent. With this field you have to stay present and show up or it'll be costly.”
Madysen Keller led the way for the Bearkats on Saturday. The senior posted a 5-game average of 208 to ranked fifth out of 128 bowlers who competed on Saturday. Bea Hernandez was 16thwith a 198 average.
“We were able to get in a lot sooner than we did yesterday and typically when we can do that the positive results follow, Hagen said. “Tomorrow's a new day and we have to step up and come out swinging.”
The Kats will enter Sunday as the fifth seed in bracket play and will face No. 6 UAB.
