Two Bearkat bowlers as well as head coach Brad Hagen are taking part in the Southeast Asain Games taking place in Manila, Philippines this week.
Bea Hernandez and Tasya Rafie will both bowl for their countries and Hagen will be assisting with the Philippine National Team.
“Any time our bowlers get a chance to represent their country, it is a special event,” Hagen said. “They will be facing some of the top bowlers in Southeast Asia, and will gain a ton of international experience this week.”
Hernandez, last season's Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year, will be one of four women on the Adult National Team for the Philippines. It is her first selection to the SEA Games. Rafie, also is competing at the SEA games for the first time, representing Brunei.
This will be the 30th year of the SEA games, taking place in more than 40 venues in 23 cities in the Philippines. The bowling competition will include singles, doubles, mixed doubles and a team event. The competition begins on Dec. 3 and will run until Dec. 8.
