Kats stand in 2nd at PVU Invite

ARLINGTON – Competing in a loaded field in Arlington at the ITRC, the Bearkat bowlers are in second place after the opening day of the PVU Invitational.

Despite posting a 2-3 record on the day, the Kats are second to only No. 1 ranked McKendree by just two pins.

"When you have a stacked field like this you're going to have some high scores and good matches that don't always work in your favor," head coach Brad Hagen. "Shot making is a premium and filling frames is a must. We're doing something well bring toward the top of the leader board but we have to avoid costly mistakes."

The Kats posted wins over No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore and No. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday. They dropped matches to No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 1 McKendree and No. 3 Nebraska. They loss to McKendree was by 15 pins while the loss to Nebraska was just 20.

Action will continue Saturday at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington at the Notional Bowling Hall of Fame.
