HUNTSVILLE — The Bearkats handed head coach
Jason Hooten a career milestone Thursday night at Johnson Coliseum with a 107-65 victory over LeTourneau.
The game marked the 200
th career win for Hooten, who has been the head coach for 11 seasons in Huntsville. His first victory came in his debut as Sam Houston State's head coach on Nov. 13, 2010 when the Kats defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor 72-47.

Zach Nutall led SHSU with a game-high 23 points. Junior
Tristan Ikpe added 15 points, true freshman
Jarren Cook chipped in 13 points and junior
Javion May scored a career-high 10.
The game marked the third straight contest the Bearkats surpassed the century mark in scoring, and they did it by shooting 58.8 percent from the field. Sam Houston turned 19 YellowJacket turnovers into 30 points.
The Kats held LeTourneau to just 36 percent shooting. SHSU outrebounded the YellowJackets 50-31.
Sam Houston hits the road Monday to face LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in a contest that was added Wednesday after the Bearkats' game at Houston was canceled.
