Women's Golf leads at Texas State

KYLE - The Bearkat golfers are off to a good start with their spring season, holding the lead after the first day of competitions at the Texas State Invitational.

Second-round play was suspended because of darkness with the Kats leading the host school Texas State by six shots. The Bearkats still have about six holes left to play in the second round.

Hanna Alberto leads the way for the Kats, sitting at four under for the tournament. She will take a two-shot lead into the final day of action. The highlight of the second round for Alberto was an eagle on the par-5, 11^th hole. She's one of just two golfers in the 78 player field to record an eagle on the day. She has four holes remaining in her second round.

Leah Alberto also sits in the top 10, currently in a tie for 6^th. She is 5-over with six holes remaining in the second round. Newcomer Jennifer Herbst, playing in her first collegiate tournament, is 12^th at 6-over par and Viera Permata Rosada is in 20^th at 8-over for the tournament.
