After a slow start to the Mid Winter Invitational on Friday, the Bearkat bowlers responded in a big way. They posted a 7-1 record the rest of the way, including three wins on Sunday to take fifth place. 
 
The No. 2-ranked Bearkats needed a come-from-behind victory over Nebraska in the fifth place match to clinch the perfect mark for the day. 
 
"I think this says a lot about our to be able to bounce back from the start we had Friday," said head coach Brad Hagen. "We faced three quality teams today and posted three important wins."
 
After posting wins over No. 21 UAB and No. 11 Louisiana Tech, the Bearkats found themselves in a 3-1 hole against the No. 3 ranked Cornhuskers in best-of-7 match. After taking game 5 228-196 and a 278-237 win in game 6, they set they deciding seventh game. The Kats kept the momentum in their favor, winning a thrilling seventh game 223-217.
 
The Kats opened the day with a 4-1 win over UAB, taking four straight games after dropping the opener. Against Louisiana Tech, the Kat took the first two games and then after dropping the third, closed it out winning games four and five. 
 
Bea Hernandez was named to the all-tournament team after posting a five game 218 average on Saturday. 
 
With the win over Nebraska, the Kats still have not finished lower than fifth in any tournament this season.
