Bearkat women share lead in Corpus

The Sam Houston women battled through windy conditions and share the lead at the Islander Classic.

Both the Kats and Houston Baptist are 26 over par and lead the hosts, Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The Bearkats opened with team score of 303 and improved by four shots in round two.

Leah Alberto and Hanna Alberto are tied for second at 5-over par. Leah was consistent shooting an opening round 75 and followed that up with a 74. Hanna opened with a 77 and then closed with a 72, the team low for the day.Â

Hanna finished her round strong, carding an eagle on her final hole of the day for an even-par round. She is the only golfer to play the par 4's under par, at 3-under.

Two other Bearkats are in the top 20 with Viera Permata Rosada 15th at 9-over par and Zulaikah Nurziana Nasser a stroke back in 20th. Jennifer Herbst is 39th at 14-over par.Â
