Steele named Golfer of the Month

Noah Steele earned his second Golfer of the Month recognition on Wednesday, as announced by the Southland Conference office.

Steele had a stellar month on the links, posting a sub-70 scoring average over his six rounds of play. He tied for third overall at the All-American, helping lead the Bearkats to a tournament victory in a field that included four ranked teams. At the Border Olympics, Steele shot a tournament-low 66 in the opening round and held off the field on the final day for his third collegiate victory of his career.

Steele, who is now ranked No. 54 nationally by GolfStat, finished the All-American ahead of 11 other golfers who were ranked nationally. At the Border Olympics, where he won his second tournament of the year, he finished ahead of a 91-player field that included four ranked individuals.

Over his 21 rounds of golf this season he has an average of and even 70, with a low of 63. His scoring average is good enough for No. 14 nationally and he's ranked 7^th in the country with 93 birdies this season.

Steele and the Bearkats will head to California this week to participate in the Lamkin Grips SD Classic hosted by San Diego and San Diego State.
