SAN DIEGO – With two rounds in the books at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, the men's golf team sits in 12^thplace in the talented 19-team field.

Playing in a loaded field that includes nine ranked teams, the Bearkats opened with a 297 and were in 13^th overall after the first 18 holes. In round two on Monday afternoon, they shaved a stroke off their score and moved up a spot in the standings.

Individually the Bearkats were led by William Holcomb, who sits in 12^th place overall. Holcomb opened the day with a 69 and was sitting in third place at the end of the first round. He followed that with a 74 and is 1-under for the tournament. He's currently five shots off the lead.

Noah Steele is 4-over for the tournament and sits in 31^st place in the field of 100 golfers. Steele opened the tournament with a 75, but bounced back with a 73 in the second round to move up 25 spots on the leaderboard.

The Kats will wrap up the tournament with 18 more holes on Tuesday.
