Women's golf sits in second in Florida

The Sam Houston State women are in second place after 36 holes at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday.Â

The Bearkats shot rounds of 295 and 298 and trail the host school North Florida by four shots heading into Tuesday's final round.Â

The Kats were led individually by Hanna Alberto who is even par for the tournament and currently sits in third place. She opened with a 1-under round of 71 and followed with a 73. She is two shots off the lead.

Sam Houston had a pair of other golfers in the top 10, with Viera Permata Rosada and Jennifer Herbst both sitting in 9th at 5-over. In the second round, Herbst, closed strong, with birdies on four of her last five holes to shoot a 76. Rosada opened with a 76, and then bounced back to shoot a 73 in the afternoon.Â
