Bearkats run at Arkansas XC meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Sam Houston men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by Arkansas on Friday.

Andrew Bosquez was the men's top finisher, placing 17^th with a time of 24:26.4 on the 8K course at Agri Park. The Bearkats placed 14^th as a team out of 36 participants.

Also for the men, Christian Rivera finished 86^th with a time of 25:39.9, and Eduardo Gutierrez placed 140^th with a mark of 26:16.0. Colton Stunkard came in 142^nd with a time of 26:16.7, Elijah McWilliams was 150^th with a time of 26:21.5, Austin Zirkel was 204^th with a mark of 26:58.2, Mario Ruiz's time of 27:06.0 was 214^th, William Boyce finished 258^th at 27:55.7, Kyan Wallace placed 272^nd with a mark of 28:12.2.

Rebeca Gonzalez placed 110^th on the women's side with a time of 18:36.6 on the 5K course. Cryslan Tucker placed 160^th with a mark of 19:05.0, and Sandy Clarkin finished 178^th with a time of 19:13.6.

Haley Thomas was 216^th with a time of 19:40.6, Ellie Galan placed 230^th with a time of 19:48.8 and Haley Garza was 293^rd at 21:23.7.
