HUNTSVILLE — UT-Arlington scored in six of seven innings to hand the Sam Houston softball team an 8-1 setback at Bearkat Softball Complex on Wednesday.
The Bearkats managed just four hits in the contest to fall to 7-18 on the season. Sam Houston returns to Southland Conference action this weekend when Houston Baptist comes to town for a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader Friday at 4 p.m.
The Kats scored their lone run in the fourth inning. Freshman
Kylie Hobbs reached in a throwing error with one out and came around to score when sophomore
Kyndal Kutac singled down the left-field line.
The Mavericks (8-20) scored a run in the first, two in the second, one in the third and fifth, two in the sixth and one in the top of the seventh.
Kutac also doubled down the left-field line in the second inning. Senior
Megan McDonald and and freshman
Emily Telg accounted for the other two singles.
