Alberto tied for 7th in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – With play suspended for the first round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur, Bearkat golfer Hanna Alberto stands in a tie for 7^th place.

She had completed 13 holes when play was stopped at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. for the day and is even-par for the round. Alberto is four shots off the lead.

Alberto started the day at 1-under after a birdie on No. 2. After bogies on Nos. 4 and 5, Alberto got back to even for the tournament with a birdie on No. 6. After a bogey on No. 7, Alberto made the turn at even par following a birdie on No. 9.

A birdie on No. 12 got her back to 1-under but she bogeyed No. 13 just as play was stopped.

The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., March 31 and April 1, 2021. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 2. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 3 and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.

This is Aberto's second time to play in the AGWA after missing the cut in 2019.
