Box Score NORMAN, Okla. — The Sam Houston softball team went the distance with No. 1 Oklahoma Friday night, but the Sooners came away with a 7-0 victory at Marita Hynes Field.
The Bearkats (2-6) got their lone hit in the third inning when freshman
Lauren Whitney singled through the left side. Oklahoma (13-0) retired the next three hitters in a row to end the frame.
Sam Houston's only other runner came in the top of the fourth. Freshman
Ellie Grill led off the frame with a walk, but once again the Sooners ended the threat.

Christine Billmeier limited the powerful Sooner lineup to five runs in 4 2/3 innings in the circle to fall to 0-1 on the season.
Oklahoma scored a run in the first and third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth.
The Bearkats will face No. 17 Missouri at 10 a.m. Saturday and ULM at 3 p.m. at the Oklahoma Tournament.
