THIBODAUX, La. — The Sam Houston soccer team exploded offensively and turned in a solid defensive performance to blank Nicholls 4-0 Sunday at Yockey Bernard Field.
Sophomore
April Bennett scored the Bearkats' first goal of the season in the 41
st minute off an assist by sophomore
Rachel Downey for what would prove to be the game winner as Sam Houston improved to 1-1-1 on the season.
Junior
Abby DeLozier was spectacular in goal for the Kats, recording her second straight shutout. She had six saves and has not allowed a goal in the last 200 minutes going back to Friday's scoreless double overtime tie at Southeastern Louisiana.

Caitlyn McDonald made it 2-0 when she scored in the 59
th minute off an assist by junior

Lexi Primacio added a goal in the 68
th minute with an assist from freshman
Landri Townsend. Four minutes later, sophomore
Brooke Jones put the match away with her first goal of the season off Downey's second assist of the match.
