HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston could not get the opportune hit with runners in scoring position to fall to Stephen F. Austin 3-0 and 1-0 in a Southland Conference doubleheader at Bearkat Softball Complex on Friday.
The Bearkats (15-28, 11-12 SLC) and Ladyjacks (31-1, 22-1 SLC) will conclude the three-game series with a single game Saturday at noon.

Megan McDonald, sophomore
Kyndal Kutac and freshman
Hannah Scheaffer all hit safely for SHSU.
Freshman
Mika Vento (7-7) was steady in the circle despite getting the loss. She allowed a run on a wild pitch and gave up a two-run home run Lexi Benton.
Game 2
Stephen F. Austin 1, Sam Houston 0 (9 inn.)
SFA scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning on a RBI single by Shaylon Govan to complete a doubleheader sweep of Sam Houston in game two.
