Men's golf, Holcomb lead at Bayou City

HOUSTON – With a second round team score of 12-under par, the Bearkat men's golfer team leads a strong field at the Bayou City Collegiate at Westwood Golf Club in Houston.

The Bearkats are 20-under for the tournament and will take a four-shot lead into Tuesday's final round.

Senior William Holcomb also sits on top of the individual leaderboard in a tie at 8-under par. Holcomb opened his day with a 69 and followed that up with a 67.

Two other Kats are in the top 10 with Paul Chaplet sitting in 6^th and Grayson Blunt in 9^th. Chaplet shot a 69 to start the day and then closed with a 70. Blunt shot two rounds of 70.

Holcomb got his day started hot. He birdied four of his first six holes to take the early lead in the tournament. His second round of 67 included an eagle at No. 6 and he played the back 9 at 3-under par.

Luis Carrera was one of two golfers with two eagles on the day and is in 12^th place.
