Bachmeyer earns SLC weekly honor

FRISCO — Sam Houston freshman Taylor Bachmeyer has been named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Sunday.
Bachmeyer threw her first career no-hitter in a 4-0 victory over Incarnate Word on Friday. It is also the first time in her career to win the weekly honor.
Bachmeyer (2-5) pitched seven shutout innings and finished with four strikeouts as the Bearkats swept the Cardinals to earn a berth in the SLC tournament. She walked four batters and allowed another to reach on her fielding error, but did not give up a hit behind a solid defensive effort.
