DENVER — Sam Houston senior goalkeeper Abby DeLozier has been named the Western Athletic Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

DeLozier was solid in the net as the Bearkats notched their first two wins of the season at Pritchett Field this past weekend.

The McKinney product had four saves and only allowed one goal in Sam Houston's 2-1 victory over Grambling in overtime on Friday. She held the Lady Tigers scoreless in the second half.

DeLozier recorded a shutout in the Bearkats' 1-0 victory over former Southland Conference opponent McNeese on Sunday. She finished with seven saves and has now gone 154 consecutive minutes over the past two games without allowing a goal.
