Randle shoots 69, Kats lead in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisc. – Jack Randle shot an opening round 69 and has a share of the lead after the opening day of the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.Â

As a team, the Sam Houston is six shots up for the lead, ahead of Illinois State, which was the only other team to go under par on Sunday. The Bearkats fired an 8-under 280.

Randle carded four birdies and one bogey for his 3-under round. He is one of four Bearkats under par after 18 holes, with Chad Sewell and Bret Gray tied for third at 2-under and Ting-Wei Hsieh in a tie for 9th at 1-under.Â

Grayson Blunt finished his day with a 1-over 73 and sits in 24th.Â

The tournament continues on Monday with round two and round 3 will be Tuesday.Â
