HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston tennis team begins dual match play this spring against Prairie View A&M on Jan. 21.
The Bearkats are coming off the best season in school history when the program won its first conference regular season championship.

Sam Houston won the Southland Conference in 2021 with a 10-1 league record and 15-4 overall mark. The Kats also set team records for highest conference winning percentage (.923), overall season winning percentage (.851), Southland Conference single-season wins (10) and came in at No. 10 in the ITA Regional rankings.
Nonconference home matches this spring include Incarnate Word on Feb. 6, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 27, Rice on March 6, Marquette on March 15 and Binghamton on March 16. Western Athletic Conference home matches will be against Stephen F. Austin on March 8, UTRGV on March 16 and Lamar on March 20.

The Bearkats will travel to UTSA on Jan. 30, Texas A&M on Feb. 5, Nicholls on Feb. 12, Southern Mississippi on Feb. 13, Louisiana Tech on Feb. 18, Murray State on Feb. 19 and Texas State on Feb. 25. Sam Houston will be on the road for WAC matches against Tarleton on April 2, Abilene Christian on April 3 and SFA on April 9.

The WAC Tournament will be held April 21-23 in Beaumont.
