Kats finish fourth at TRACK Kat Klash

HOUSTON — The Sam Houston bowling team placed fourth at the TRACK Kat Klash on Sunday at Emerald Bowl.
The Bearkats were the third seed in the championship bracket and had an impressive showing against Maryville. Sam Houston took the match 4-1 with scores of 238-182, 250-195, 185-184 and 240-176.
The Kats lost to North Carolina A&T 4-2 to go to the third-place game where Delaware State was able to pull away with a 4-1 victory.
"Another tough day but it was one of those days where we were relying on our first ball too much, and it needs to be a balance," head coach Brad Hagen said. "We must get healthier from our depth perspective both physically and mentally. When the moments present themselves, we need to step up and finish the job.
"We're learning to grind, and we're really close to busting open a great weekend so we're looking to end the first half with a solid weekend."
NC A&T won the championship with a 4-0 win over McKendree.
