Chambers leads at Lady Techsters Classic

DALLAS – With two days in the books at the Lady Techsters Classic, the Sam Houston bowlers sit in fourth place with one qualifying match remaining.

After getting out of the gates slow on Friday, the Kats surged back on Saturday at USA Bowl. They posted a 4-0 record, with wins over No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 15 Tulane and No. 17 LIU.

Individually, Elise Chambers leads the way with a 219 average. She had a high of 256 and topped the 200 mark in four of her five games on the day.

"We had a much better day today, but still has some stuff to clean up," said head coach Brad Hagen. "The most important thing I saw was our ability to shake off a rough first day and get us ring back in contention."

The Bearkats are 6-3 overall and will enter the final qualifying match on Sunday morning with a 33 pin lead over Vandy for the final spot in the championship match. They will face SFA Sunday morning, which currently sits in second place.

Hayley Connelly currently sits in the top 10 as well, with a 195 average.
