WACO — A six-run third inning propeled Baylor past Sam Houston 7-0 in the two-game series finale at Getterman Stadium on Saturday.
The Bearkats (11-33) held the Bears (22-18) to just one run in the first inning, but two frames later, things came unraveled.
Baylor hit two two-run doubles and a pair of RBI singles to break the game open.
Bears starting pitcher Aliyah Binford had a no-hitter going through the first four innings, but Hannah Schaeffer launched a double to left field in the top of the fifth to break it up.
Sam Houston had two chances to score in the game in the fifth and seventh innings. However, both times the runner was thrown out at home to end the frames.
The Bearkats return to WAC play next weekend when they travel to Abilene Christian for a doubleheader on Friday and a single game Saturday.
