COLLEGE STATION — The Sam Houston soccer team picked things up offensively in the second half but could not score that elusive first goal of the season in a 6-0 loss to Texas A&M at Ellis Field on Thursday.
The Aggies scored four goals in the first half to improve to 2-0-1 on the season. The Bearkats dropped to 0-2.
Sam Houston was held without a shot in the opening half. That changed after the break as the Kats took seven shots in the second half, two of which were on goal. Katarina Baehran and
Landri Townsend had both shots on goal.

Savannah Hall provided a highlight for Sam Houston in the second half when she blocked a penalty kick, but the Aggies scored on the rebound to go up 5-0. Hall finished with nine saves.
The Bearkats will host Houston on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the home opener at Pritchett Field.
