Wasik receives national ranking

Sam Houston sophomore Brailey Wasik has been selected as one of the top two-way players in the country by Extra Inning Softball.

Wasik is No. 13 in the pitcher/utility player power rankings after a breakout freshman season in 2022. She is joined on the list with players from the ACC, Big 12, Pac 12 among others.

Last season, Wasik led the Bearkats in several batting statistics. She hit a team-leading .275 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and four doubles.

On the mound, she went 4-3 with 40 strikeouts and two complete games in 70.2 innings.Â
