DEPTFORD, N.J. — The Sam Houston bowling team slipped two spots in the standings to miss out on advancing to the championship round at the Northeast Classic on Saturday at Bowlero Deptford.

The Bearkats are in 10th place going 3-2 in traditional match competition to finish with 9,885 total pins after day two. Vanderbilt remains in first at 10,472 followed by McKendree (10,355), Nebraska (10,314), Stephen F. Austin (10,247), Marryville (10,103), Youngstown State (10,044), Arkansas State (10,006), North Carolina A&T (9,910) and Duquesne (9,885).

Bea Hernandez placed 17th in the individual standings after knocking down 1,059 pins on Saturday. Her best game was a 266 and she finished with a 211.8 average in five matches.

Kaia Gray was 13th with 1,021 total pins with her best game being 241. Elise Chambers rolled a 240 in her top match.
