Kats build upon debut CUSA season with 2024 class

HUNTSVILLE - Sam Houston is looking to prove it's here to stay with its most recent signing class.

The Bearkats signed six players as a part of their 2024 signing class on Wednesday, just days after reaching the semifinals in the 2023 Conference USA Soccer Tournament. Head Coach Sonia Curvelo believes this group can push the Kats over the top.

"This freshman class is a solid group and will give us the depth in quality that we need to push to win a CUSA Championship," said coach Curvelo. "Each of them will bring something to our program and understand their roles and responsibilities of what is expected of them at this level. We as a staff expect them to make immediate impact and compete everyday".

"This class sees the vision we want and believe they are all great additions. We will also be adding transfers as the portal opens up next week that I think will be key in helping towards winning our first title at Sam Houston. We have a group of returners that are very hungry and want this as well and have the experience of competing and winning in CUSA games and tournament play."
