HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston sailed to a 114-51 victory against Texas College in Johnson Coliseum on Sunday.
The Bearkats (5-3) have now reached 100 or more points nine times under head coach Ravon Justice, with Sunday's effort being tied for the third-most points in a single game in program history.
The Steers started out strong, but the Bearkats found their rhythm toward the end of the first half. Raanee Smith lead the takeoff with a layup to put the Kats up 8-5 in the first quarter.
Sam Houston had seven Bearkats reach double digits in scoring with Smith leading the pack with career highs of 22 points and 16 rebounds - all offensive - for her second double-double of the season. She also grabbed five blocked shots.
Kassidy Dixon was close behind with a season high of 20 points. Kaylee Jefferson put up 19, and Diarrah Sissoko added 15 points and Sydnee Kemp finished with 11.
Tamera Derrough and Kelis Grant both put up career highs of 10 points.
The Bearkats will be back in action on Saturday at home against UT Arlington at 2 p.m. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
