LUBBOCK — The Sam Houston track and field teams competed in a final tuneup before the WAC Indoor Championships at the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Open over the weekend.

Rajer Gurode took the bronze in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.37 seconds and tied sixth in the 200 meters with a mark of 24.03, and Anivea Gilbert was fifth in the 60 at 7.44.

Macie Ellis placed third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:33.37. Rachel Macieieski captured third in the pole vault with a jump of 4.01 meters.

Shaynea Redmond took second in the section B long jump with a leap of 5.76 meters. Jade Johnson was third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.35 meters.

Lilly Rodel placed first in the section B weight throw with a toss of 16.31 meters, and Charlee Salinas was sixth at 14.77.

Tia Harry placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 8.74, and the 4x400-meter relay was fifth with a time of 3:47.14.

Sasha Elizondo was seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.21. Jackeria Woodkins was ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.58.

Christian Rohlack finished fourth in the 600 meters with a time of 1:11.99, and Jabari Mitchell was ninth at 1:12.56. Bryan Mileski placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:15.86, and Christian Rivera was ninth at 4:17.48.

Eric Callaway was eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.32, and Tyriq Brunn was second in the section B 200 with a mark of 21.59.

Steven Gruss placed eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.97 meters, and Benjamin Carlile was fourth in section B of the pole vault with a jump of 4.76 meters.

Derrick Warren was first in the second B long jump with a leap of 7.23 meters, and Kyle Kiser took seventh at 6.77 meters. Nikos Fotinopoulos placed fourth in the section B shot put with a toss of 15.09.

Luke Thielemann captured seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 18.09 meters, and Ben Ruiz finished sixth in the section B weight throw with a mark of 15.14.
