ROUND ROCK — No. 1 LSU jumped on Sam Houston early to run away with a 16-4 victory in the finale of the Karbach Classic at Dell Diamond on Sunday afternoon.
The Bearkats went 2-1 in the tournament with wins over Iowa, which upset the Tigers on Saturday, and Kansas State to improve to 5-3 on the season.
LSU scored two runs in the first, five in the second and three in the third and two in the fourth to take a commanding 12-0 lead before Sam Houston got on the board.

Tyler Davis drew a back-to-back-to-back one-out walks in the bottom of the fourth to load the bases.
Joe Redfield made it five walks in a row to bring in a run.
Myles Jefferson, who had a stellar tournament at the plate, ripped a two-run single to right field to cut the lead to 12-3.
The Tigers added runs in each of the next three innings to increase their lead to 15-3 before
Justin Wishkoski homered to left for Sam Houston's final run in the seventh.
The Bearkats head to San Marcos to face Texas State in a midweek game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
