SAN MARCOS — The Sam Houston baseball team fell on Wednesday night to Texas State 6-2, capping off their second straight week of back-to-back double midweek games.
After falling behind in the first, giving up a pair of runs, the Kats answered right back.
Clayton Chadwick led off the second with a single and then scored on a two-out double by
Carlos Contreras. He then reached home on a double by
Joe Redfield to level the game. But the Bearkats left the bases loaded in the second and that was it for their offense on the night.
They were held hit less the rest of the way, falling for the third straight game.
The Kats will be back in action on Friday for the first of three in a weekend series against Illinois. It will be their second matchup against a Big 10 foe after defeating Iowa on Friday night.
