BATON ROUGE – The baseball season came to an end on Sunday night the third round of the Baton Rouge Regional, as the Sam Houston Bearkats fell to Oregon State 3-1.
The Bearkats got on the board first, on a single by
Walker Janek, scoring
Justin Wishkoski and giving the Kats a 1-0 lead. However, that was it for the Bearkat offense.
The Bearkat pitching did it's part against the No. 14 ranked Beavers.
Marshall Wales got the start and struck out a career high 7 batters in five innings of work. His only blemish was a three run inning in the fourth when Oregon State scored all three runs with two outs.
Braden Davis came on in relief and finished out the last four innings of the game, striking out five batters.
The Kats did threaten in the bottom of the ninth, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate, but the rally failed.
