Tennis season opener vs Prairie View postponed

HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston women's tennis will have to wait a bit longer to kick off its spring season as it was announced on Wednesday that Saturday's season-opening doubleheader vs Prairie View has been postponed due to the recent inclement weather in the area. Â
The teams will now open the season on Friday, January 26, with a pair of dual matches in Huntsville. First serve of doubles play in Match 1 is set for 11 a.m. while Match 2 is set for a 2:30 p.m. first serve. Â
Sam Houston and Prairie View were scheduled to play a pair of dual matches on Saturday, January 20 at the McAdams Tennis Center. Doubles play was originally scheduled for 10 a.m. for Match 1 and 2:00 p.m. for the second half of the day. Â
Currently the Bearkats are scheduled to take the court for the first time this spring on January 27 when they host UT Tyler at 11:00 a.m.
