Kats drop CUSA road game against the Lady Techsters

RUSTON, La. – Sam Houston could not capitalize on a late run in 66-62 loss against Louisiana Tech on Saturday at Thomas Assembly Center.  

The Bearkats went on a late 8-0 run with under five minutes to go. Kassidy Dixon capped it off with a fastbreak to bring the score to 59-56. The Lady Techsters put up a layup to end the offensive attack with 2:49 to go.  

Diana Rosenthal was fouled and added two points at the free throw line at the 1:21 mark of the fourth quarter. She then followed with a layup to pull the Kats within 64-62 with under 50 seconds to go.  

Sam Houston could not get any closer as the Lady Techsters were able to hold on for the win. 

Rosenthal led the team with 17 points, and Dixon was right behind with 14 points.  

Raanee Smith wrapped up the night with her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  

The Bearkats will travel to WKU on Wednesday. The tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. and is set to be aired on ESPN+.
