The Kats were the winners of the first two events. In 2013 Arkansas State took the team title while Nebraska won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. Sam Houston won in 2016 and Nebraska won in 2017. McKendree won its first Kat Klash title in 2018, Nebraska claimed its fifth and sixth Kat Klash titles in 2020 and 2021, North Carolina A&T took the title in 2022 and Maryville just edged Sam Houston in the championship last season.
