Kats keep pace in Illinois

LOCKPORT, ILL. - Sam Houston continued its hot pace at the Lewis Flyer's Classic on Saturday.
The Bearkats went 3-2 on the second day of the tournament and have 9,863 total pins. Nebraska remained on top with 10,178 total pins. Just behind the Kats sits Maryville University and Sacred Heart University, which have 9,560 and 9,462, respectively.Â
"The first two to three sets today went mostly well yet having to get away from our game plan," head coach Brad Hagen said. "We're going into Sunday with a shot to win the event and that alone needs to be the confidence booster we need. You can't win unless you're in the mix ant the top and we're in contention."
Sam Houston will look to take the top spot at the invitational on Sunday.
