LYNCHBURG— The Sam Houston women's basketball team fell to Liberty in 86-56 loss on Saturday at Liberty Arena in Conference USA action.
The Bearkats (6-17, 1-10 CUSA) could not stop the Flames offense as they fell ian 8-0 deficit. Shanti Henry finally Sam Houston on the board with a 3-point shot.
Liberty held the lead the whole way going into the locker room up 49-31. The Flames own Bella Smuda put up 23 points in the Flames victory.
Kaylee Jefferson led Sam Houston with 15 points. Sydnee Kemp and Henry both added 11. Raanee Smith grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Kats on the boards
The Bearkats will return home next week to host New Mexico State on Thursday. Tipoff is at 6:30 pm and is set to be aired on ESPN+.
