HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston women's basketball team will be looking to work its way back into the win column on Tuesday when it takes on Alabama at Coleman Coliseum.
Tipoff for the game is set for 6:00 p.m. and will air on SEC Network+ with Roger Hoover, Niya Butts and Chloe Rigdon on the call courtside.
The game can also be heard online on the Bearkat Sports Network and the Bearkat Athletics app with Stephanie Keele moving behind the mic for the Kats for the 2025-26 season.
KATS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK IN TUSCALOOSA
- Sam Houston saw its 4-game win streak come to an end in a 66-50 loss at Rice on December 3. The Kats led after a quarter of play and were within striking distance of the Owls entering the fourth quarter before Rice canned five 3-point baskets in the final period to claim the win
- The Kats checked in at No. 115 in the NCAA's latest NET ranking through games on December 14, the second-highest ranking CUSA team. Defending CUSA champion Liberty is the only one ranked higher, coming in at No. 114
- Sam Houston will be looking for its first-ever victory over a team from the SEC
- The Bearkats rank third in the country in forcing 27.3 per game and ninth in the country in holding opponents to 51.9 points per game
