Kats chasing lead at Bridgestone Invite

NAPA, Calif. — The Sam Houston men's golf team will be chasing down a championship heading into the final round of the Bridgestone Collegiate Invite.

The Bearkats sit in second place at even-under par 576 after 36 holes at the Silverado Resort, a par-72, 6,988-yard course. BYU leads the event at 11-under 565 following a second roun8 3-under 285 on Monday.

North Alabama is third (584), Michigan State is fourth (585), Nihon and Elon are tied for fifth (585), Connecticut is seventh, Howard is eighth, Florida A&M (597) is ninth and Central Michigan is 10^th (606) in the 11-team field.

Ting-Wei Hsieh is tied for second through 36 holes at 5-under 139. Gene Chaikangwal is tied for 12^th place at 1-over 145.

Hugo Trommetter is tied for 14^th at 2-over 146. Samual McKenzie and Brett Gray are tied for 19^th at 3-over 147.

The final 18 holes will take place Tuesday at the Silverado Resort.
