Blankenzee earns CUSA recognition

DALLAS — Denise Blankenzee put together another remarkable season as the Sam Houston bowling team continued to build off the program's legacy in its first season in Conference USA.
The fifth-year senior from The Netherlands has been named second team All-CUSA after guiding the Bearkats back to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2015. The teams were selected based on the NTCA Player Composite Performance Index (PCPI) following the regular season and conference tournament.
Blankenzee had her best season statistically with 30 percent of her traditional games over 220 and a high of 269. She was the Most Valuable Player at the
Lewis Flyers Classic.

Sam Houston defeated Louisiana Tech in the finals of the Arlington Regional to advance to the NCAA Championships. The Kats will roll for a national title at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan from April 12-13 with all matches scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.
