Kats title dreams come to an end

ALLEN PARK, Mi. — Sam Houston's season came to a close as it was eliminated from the NCAA Championship finals at Thunderbowl Lanes on Friday.

After taking home the Arlington Regional and securing a spot in the top-four for the bowling championship, the Bearkats were taken down by fellow Conference USA foes Jacksonville State and Youngstown State in Friday's matches.

Despite earlier success against the Gamecocks throughout the season, the Kats could not find their groove against them in the opening round. Sam Houston ultimately fell to the top seed of the tournament 2-0.
With their backs against the wall against Youngstown State in the elimination match, the Bearkats came out swinging in the traditional matches, taking an early 1-0 lead against the Penguins.

Youngstown State would show its tenacity however, evening the match in the total-pinfall matches at one round apiece. The Bearkats could not rally after the fact, and eventually dropped the best-of-seven tie-breaker matches to end their season.
