Game 2 at New Mexico cancelled

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Due to inclement weather and heavy winds in the Albuquerque area, Saturday's non-conference game between the Sam Houston Bearkats and New Mexico Lobos has been cancelled.

The game, the second of the weekend for the Kats and Lobos, will not be made up. The teams will play the series finale on Sunday afternoon in a game scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT, which will be aired on the Mountain West Network.

Sam Houston took the opener of the series, 23-14, on Friday night at Santa Ana Star Field despite steady winds of 25-30 mph and gusts of up to 45 mph.

Temperatures in The Duke City dropped into the 30s overnight and are predicted to maintain for the bulk of Saturday, along with increased wind gusts of near 50 mph.
