EL PASO — The Sam Houston men's track team finished third at the 2024 Conference USA Outdoor Championships hosted by UTEP at Kidd Field on Saturday and Sunday.
Brian Orlando claimed the silver in the hammer throw with a toss of 64.34 meters. Freshman
Jerimiah Jackson stood on the second-place podium in his first CUSA meet with a leap of 2.05 meters in the high jump.
Kaleb Kiser captured second place in the triple jump with a leap of 14.66 meters.
Hendrick Hundl raced to a second place showing in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02 seconds.
Tyriq Brunn took the bronze in the 100 meters with a time of 10.09 seconds. He then cruised to a second-place finish in the 200 with a time of 20.65.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team placed second with a time of 40.60. The Kats added another silver in the 4x400 with a time of 3:10.39.
